BMS_006 Part-Time Bookkeeper

Due to rapid growth, we are currently seeking a dedicated & motivated individual with 1-2 years of recent Bookkeeping experience. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent interpersonal communication skills with a positive, professional demeanor and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. A detail-oriented/problem solving work style is fundamental for this position, as is the ability to work accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities will include but is not limited to reconciliation of bank statements, preparation of journal entries and assisting the senior accountant with other various tasks.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Experience with Account Payables, Accounts Receivables, Bank Reconciliations, 1099’s and journal entries.
  • Preparation of General Ledger, Profit & Loss Reports, Balance Sheets.
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial statements including P&L, balance, and cash flow analysis.
  • Month-end closing and ability to interface with senior accountant, providing all necessary reports and documentation to the process as seamlessly as possible.
  • Ability to generate reports, spreadsheets, and other routine information.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ full charge bookkeeping or similar experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is a required for this position.
  • Familiarity with Sales Tax is a big plus
  • Strong Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Able to work independently, handle multi-tasks simultaneously and knows how to prioritize
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and responsible
  • Ability to perform under time constraints and meet deadlines; strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Zedonk is a big plus

This is a part-time position with a potential to grow to full-time.

Job Description

BMS_005 Production Pattern Maker

The Brandon Maxwell Production Pattern Maker will coordinate with Design, Development, and Company management to ensure accurate completion of patterns that reflect desired fit and manufacturability objectives, and must be able to manage priorities and timelines while maintaining the highest quality in product output. This is a temp to perm position reporting to our Production Director.   ​This is an excellent opportunity for a well-seasoned pattern maker.

 

Terms:

Looking for immediate availability for temporary to permanent pattern makers.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Translates design sketches into accurate first patterns
  • Update patterns based on design changes, garment fit sessions, and sewing and construction issues
  • Calculates yields to ensure efficiencies and proper raw material planning
  • Grades patterns based on Company specifications
  • Creates production markers as needed for cutting
  • Creates accurate Production patterns, rule tables, pattern cards
  • ​Ensure all patterns align with our company look and style, as well as production specs.  Attending to additional projects as assigned.  Collaborate with Design to obtain clear direction and consensus on design aesthetic, fit intent and construction.  Lead Development fit sessions on a live model and work with Design to achieve design aesthetic and communicate fit and balance with cross-functional partners.  Engineer garments for bulk production while maintaining Brandon Maxwell construction and quality standards.  Effectively communicate fit intent, balance, and construction to Sample makers.  Identify potential production, quality or cost issues and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent.  Ensure size and fit consistency for Development fit models. ​

The Ideal Candidate:

 

  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in production pattern making ​ in women’s RTW or evening.​
  • ​​Proven experience with fabric and draping techniques.
  • ​ ​Working with paper patterns.
  • ​​Extremely resourceful, intuitive, and adaptive in all work.
  • ​Excellent communication skills, both interpersonally and in written form.

BMS_004 Design Internship

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Brandon Maxwell internship program is an intimate learning environment allowing participants to get in depth experience in his/her area of study. Interns will gain first hand experience in design, product development, production, wholesale sales, marketing, distribution of our collections, or operations based on his/her area of interest and placement.

Terms:

(3-5 Full Days/Week)

Spring: January – April/May

Summer: May – August

Fall: September – December

Responsibilities Will Include:

● Source and partner with external pattern makers, sample sewers and tech editors to build industry

relationships

● Assist in technical design and development; accurately sketching ideas and variations as assigned,

either by hand or in adobe suite

● Create and maintain project spec sheets and partner with Product Development to build out

seasonal BOMs

● Manage quality assurance for sampling goods, trims, muslins and finished garments goods

● Maintain respectful and cooperative demeanor with all factory and development partners

● Able to clearly and timely relay information, accurately

● Able to clearly and timely complete projects with shifting deadlines

● Create visual tools for better cross-functional partnerships

● Organize errands, projects and overall day to best utilize time and meet highest level priorities first

● Organize fabric, trim and pattern libraries and studio overall

● Develop expertise in product kit development and development of proto and SMS samples across

multiple categories

● Ability to track progress and update across multiple platforms to multiple people

The Ideal Candidate:

● Working towards or completed bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Product Development or Fashion Design

● Applicants with product development hands on knowledge are not required, but preferred

● Proficiency in Adobe Suite,

● Excellent skills in Excel, and all MS suit programs

● Basic mathematical skills

● Familiarity or willingness to learn google drive and Google supported apps

● Able to take creative direction with projects and match image mining, trend forecasting and

research to topic at hand and representative of brand

● Clear and effective written and verbal communication

● Prior internship or employment experience in NYC

● Ability to quickly generate tech packs for complex styles in apparel, handbags and multiple other

categories, as assigned

● Able to sketch with both a gestural hand and also with accurate technical details

● Ability to render fabrics is a plus

● Able to maintain detailed notes and records, for themselves and in assistance for team

● Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables with

strong organization skills and attention to detail

● Demonstrated knowledge of basic patternmaking, with understanding of garment construction

terminology

● General knowledge of fabrics and fabric properties

● Hand and industrial sewing skills

● Ability to ask questions, and also work autonomously when needed

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Interns will gain first hand experience in design, product development, production, wholesale sales, marketing, distribution of our collections, or operations based on his/her area of interest and placement.

Terms:

Responsibilities Will Include:

● Assist EVP and Account Executive in all aspects of the sales process, including

showroom management, market preparation, and administrative support.

● Assist with and attend market appointments and product knowledge clinics at NYC

Retailers

● Remerchandising and organization of the showroom

● Record account selling and create weekly reports.

● Organize documents and calendars related to sales and purchase orders.

● Check store orders for accuracy.

● Assist with sample maintenance & shipping

● Track samples to ensure they are effectively managed between sales, PR, and

production departments.

● Research national and international stores

The Ideal Candidate:

● Prior internships and/or related experience preferred (experience in sales is a

plus!)

● Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (attention to detail

is a must)

● Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite

● Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environment with shifting

priorities while maintaining deadlines

● Assist EVP and Creative Services in all aspects of marketing, e-commerce, social

and digital strategies with the brand.

● Assist with and attend campaign shoots and other branded events.

● Organize and oversee image archive and update website.

● Track and update organizational charts for social and digital strategies.

● Work with Creative Services on researching best practices for E-Commerce

including Facebook Pixel and Google Advertising optimizations.

● Research tasks to support marketing and development initiatives

● Assist with administrative office tasks to ensure efficiency

The Ideal Candidate:

● Prior internships and/or related experience preferred (experience in sales is a

plus!)

● Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (attention to detail

is a must)
